FG to pay December 2024 Salaries on 23rd December

The Federal Government has assured federal workers that December 2024 salaries will be paid from Monday, December, 23, 2024.

The Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein stated this in Abuja.

She said the government decided to pay the December 2024 salary few days earlier to enable federal workers take care of their basic needs and plan effectively for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Dr Madein reaffirmed that the Federal Government will continue to implement policies and strategies geared towards enhancing workers welfare.

Meanwhile, Dr Madein has said that her office will provide the necessary assistance to the Somalian Federal Treasury in its effort to implement public financial management reforms in their country.

She spoke in Abuja at a farewell meeting with a delegation from the Somalian Federal Treasury.

The team from the Somalian Federal Treasury were in Nigeria to understudy the implementation of the financial reforms initiatives of the Federal Government.

Dr. Madein pointed out that financial management reforms initiatives, when appropriately implemented, will help a country achieve transparency, accountability and probity in management of public finances.

She said her office, which manages Nigeria’s financial reforms policies, is taking appropriate steps to review, develop and advance aspects of the financial management reforms policies that have become obsolete, inorder to make them more contemporary, efficient and effective in meeting current demands.

She thanked the Somalian Treasury for choosing Nigeria for the study and expressed the readiness of the Nigerian Treasury to collaborate with the Somalian Treasury on issues regarding implementation of the public financial management reforms initiatives.

While in the country, the Somalian delegation held discussions and technical sessions with the Nigerian Federal Treasury on all the financial management reforms initiatives.

The Somalian delegation also had robust discussions with federal institutions that are involved in the implementation of Nigeria’s financial management reforms and also visited some States to understudy how subnationals implemented financial management reforms policies in their domain.
