
The Federal Ministry of Art Culture Tourism and Creative Economy has organized a sensitization Programme for its Staff on Enterprise Content Management (ECM), one of the key pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation plan (FCSSIP 2021-2025).
In his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad MFR mni, represented by the Deputy Director and Head of the ICT Department, Mr Mohammed Koro, noted that ECM is one of the innovative initiative introduced by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to digitally revolutionize the Federal Civil Service and enhance efficient service delivery. He urged all staff of the Ministry to embrace the initiative and accord it the seriousness it deserves; stressing that ECM has become an integral tool for modern administrative processes.
Welcoming participants, the Assistant Director in the ICT Department explained that Enterprise Content Management is a digital platform designed to capture, monitor, store, and track documents in line with civil service procedures. He added that the traditional movement of physical files within offices will gradually be phased out as the ECM platform becomes fully operational.
The highlight of the sensitization Programme was a comprehensive power point presentation delivered by Mr Ekpenyong, a technical expert in the ICT Department. The initial beneficiaries of the ECM rollout include the Press, Procurement, and Finance and Accounts departments, with other departments scheduled to benefit subsequently.
During the vote of thanks, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Chindaya Ahmadu, commended the Permanent Secretary, Dr Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad for his commitment to transforming the Ministry and boosting staff morale within a short period of assuming office as the substantive Permanent Secretary.
