The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology is set to collaborate with Korea and its National IT Industrial Promote Agency (NIPA) to strengthen digital innovation and technology transformation that will support innovation within the public sector.
The Minister, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN made this statement when he played a host to the Korean delegation led by the Dean of Graduate School Al John Ohi Ph.D and the Director Global Cooperation National NIPA Soon-Sang Itong paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently.
According to Dr. Udeh the collaboration will focused on knowledge transfer, AI governance, E governance among others stating that NIPA-Korea leading in IT and Al Agency is renowned for driving digital innovation and global technology advancement.
In their strategic discussions, the Minister disclosed that the Nigeria- Korea AI Digital Seminar slated for December 2-3 organized by the Ministry and Korea will drive pivotal steps in advancing Nigerian’s Innovation-driven future under the Renewed Hope Agenda with participation from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)
Dr. Kingsley explained that the seminar will also provide networking opportunity aimed at strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and Korea in digital transformation for mutual benefit.
The Minister emphasized that the collaboration underscores the growing partnership between both countries in ICT, Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) and also by harnessing AI and digital tools, Nigeria is positioning itself as a regional leader in ICT-driven development, while Korea continues to share its expertise.
In his remarks, the Dean of Graduate School Al John Ohi Ph.D expressed his joy and willingness on the part of Korea stating that his country is ready at all time to support Nigeria achieve its Innovation and Technology drive.
