The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (FMIST) has welcomed the newly appointed Minister, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh SAN marking a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem and advancing the nation’s scientific and technological aspirations.

The appointment of the new Minister by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR underscores the Federal Government’s continued commitment to harnessing science, technology, and innovation as key drivers of national development, economic diversification, and global competitiveness.

Speaking during the assumption of office ceremony and a strategic meeting with the Management and Heads of Agencies in the Ministry, the new Minister reaffirmed his dedication to advancing policies and programmes that will strengthen local capacity, promote youth-driven innovation, and foster an enabling environment for scientific research and technological growth in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister emphasized on team work among staff and collaboration with stakeholders across academia, industry, and government to drive sustainable and inclusive development.

The Permanent Secretary, who was represented by Mrs. Salamatu Mohammed welcomed the Minister and briefed him on the mandate, vision and co-functions of the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary, Directors, Heads of Agencies and staff of FMIST expressed their readiness to support the Minister in achieving the Ministry’s core mandate and delivering impactful results that will position Nigeria as a hub for innovation in Africa and beyond.

The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology remains committed to building a future powered by knowledge, innovation, and scientific advancement for national prosperity.
