Former Nigeria’s President Obasanjo commissions International Conference Center Bauchi

FIC Report (Bauchi State) – Former Nigeria’s President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has on Wednesday, commissioned the newly constructed Sir Ahmadu Bello International Conference Center Bauchi.

Commissioning the the conference center during the flag off the Bauchi Investment summit, Chief Obasanjo commended Governor Bala Mohammed for executing developmental projects and programmes that have direct bearings in the lives of the citizens.

“In terms of developing Bauchi state, I was happy with what I saw and what I heard, I didn’t know that it will not be too long before you will invite me here”, Obasanjo said.

Obasanjo who described the edifice as a symbol of progress under Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, emphasized the importance of global integration, stressing that no nation can live in isolation without engaging meaningfully with the rest of the world.

The former president insisted that the developmental initiatives been implemented by Bala Mohammed led government, particularly in infrastructure would enhance Bauchi’s capacity to host international events and attract investors.

The former president noted that such facilities promote unity and economic growth, adding that Nigeria must continue to position itself as an active participant in global affairs.

On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed thanked the former president for his support and assured that his administration remains committed to projects that foster education, tourism, and socioeconomic development across the State.

Bala Mohammed revealed that the centre would serve as a multipurpose facility for both local and international engagements, including academic conferences, business summits, and cultural exhibitions.

According to governor Mohammed, the conference center stands as a testament to his government’s vision of transforming Bauchi into a hub for dialogue, innovation, and investment in Northern Nigeria.
