Forty-two communities in six Local Government Areas of Katsina State, have in the last two years, received about N478 Million from the World Bank – Supported Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP), to improve infrastructure at the grassroots. The communities are in Bakori, Danmusa, Kaita, Kankara, Mani and Rimi Local Government Areas.
Speaking recently, during the flag-off of some of the community projects in collaboration with Oando Foundation, the Acting General Manager, CSDP, in Katsina State, Alhaji Muhammad Dikko Abdulaziz, said N151 Million was disbursed to improve the education sector while N327 Million was disbursed for the execution of projects in health, electricity, water supply and road sectors.
According to him, the present partnership with Oando Foundation, would further assist in uplifting the living conditions of the rural areas.
In her remarks, the Oando Foundation Programme Manager, represented by Ms. Tonia Uduimoh, said that the Foundation is intervening in 23 States to boost the education sector through the provision of scholarships, school infrastructures, digital literacy centers and building the capacity of teachers amongst others.
