FIC Report (Anambra State) – Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Sector, has embarked on an awareness campaign to educate people on critical traffic infractions capable of causing accidents and deaths on the road.
In a speech at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia, Deputy Road Commander (DRC), Mr Jeffrey Ogiri Echono, noted that there are minor offences that needed to be checked by motorists to avoid road mishaps.
He urged vehicle drivers to always obey speed limits, install speed limiting device on their vehicles and always ensure that their tyres are not worn-out, advising those who use fairly used Tyres, to desist from doing so.
Mr. Echono, while calling on commercial drivers to stop overloading their vehicles, warned against consumption of alcoholic drinks and making phone calls while driving.
He also advised them to always fasten their seatbelts, ensure that their vehicle lights are functional,and desist from driving against traffic.
