In fulfilment of the promise of Wife of the President to the people of Kano during the graduation of 2200 women who acquired skills in Kano, a second batch of beneficiaries have received training in the areas of paint making, leatherworks, barbing, as well as rabbitry and catfish farming.
The training, which was conducted for male youth beneficiaries, is consistent with the target of Mrs. Buhari’s programme, Future Assured, which are women, youth and children.
Mrs. Buhari’s message at the opening ceremony was delivered by the Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme in Kano state, Mrs. Ramatu Mukhtar Rabiu, where she charged the beneficiaries to use the skills they have acquired in building sustainable businesses to pull themselves out of poverty and help other youths.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Mrs. Buhari for giving them the opportunity to chart an economic course for their lives by providing them with useful and sustainable skills.
A breakdown of the skills trained indicate that barbing, rabbitry and catfish farming received 100 beneficiaries each, leatherworks received 50, while paint-making received the highest beneficiaries with 150.
The weeklong training, which commenced Monday October 31, 2017 was concluded Friday, November 3, 2017.
