Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf Recognized as “Pillar of Nation Building” at National Awards

FIC Report (Kano State) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has been honored with the title of “Pillar of Nation Building” at the 2nd Nigeria’s Nation Builders Annual Award 2024. The prestigious event, held on December 5 at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja, celebrated Governor Yusuf’s transformative leadership and his contributions to national progress.

The award was organized by the Council of Civil Society Organizations in collaboration with the Vision-One Leadership Development Initiative. Governor Yusuf, represented by his Special Adviser on State Affairs, Alhaji Usman Bala Mni, received a Certificate of Nation Builder Award and a commemorative plaque, cementing his recognition for outstanding contributions to education, infrastructure, human capital development, and community empowerment.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, stated that the award underscores Governor Yusuf’s commitment to policies and programs that drive unity, progress, and prosperity in Kano State and beyond. The organizers praised his innovative and impactful governance, describing it as a model of visionary leadership in Nigeria.

Notable dignitaries at the ceremony included the wife of the Vice President, the Governor of Niger State, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, who were also recognized for their contributions to national development.

In his response, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to human capital development and inclusive growth. The award highlights Kano State’s rising reputation as a hub for innovation and sustainable development under his leadership.

This accolade further affirms Governor Yusuf’s role as a leader devoted to fostering unity, progress, and positive change, both within Kano State and across the nation.
