FIC Report (Imo State) – The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has affirmed his support for the City Boy Movement to actualize their aims and objectives.
The movement is a pressure group aligned to the All Progressives Congress and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with responsibilities of educating the populace on the efforts and achievements of President Tinubu as well as mobilising and empowering Nigerian youths on self-sustenance and entrepreneurship.
Governor Uzodimma made the affirmation during a courtesy visit by the group to Government House, Owerri, the state capital.
The governor, who was represented by the deputy governor, Mrs. Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, noted that the group was consistently doing a great job with the preaching of its shared prosperity programmes and philosophical ideologies in the state, adding that the state is strongly connected to the federal centre.
Senator Uzodimma praised President Tinubu for the various Renewed Hope programmes which are impacting on the masses, and strengthening the national economy.
While commending the City Boy Movement’s achievements in the areas of talent hunt, youth training and empowerment, the governor disclosed that many Imo youths are interested in joining the group and should be well accommodated.
The governor then thanked the son of the president, Mr. Seyi Tinubu for the initiative of mobilizing and empowering fellow youths, advising them to highten preaching of unity and peace as they perform their activities across the nation.
The national president of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Francis Tosin informed the governor that the group was on a “Renewed Hope Tour” in the state. He went further to state that the purpose of the visit is to seek approval and support from the governor for the empowerment programme targeted towards empowering seven thousand (7000) youths in Imo state.
Mr. Tosin commended Senator Uzodimma for his laudable achievements in the state and his good leadership of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
