FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has swiftly mobilized state emergency resources following the derailment of an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train on Tuesday morning. The incident caused significant panic among passengers and their families.
In an official statement, the Commissioner-Designate for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, conveyed the Governor’s deep concern and immediate directives. The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Local Government Affairs have been instructed to:
- Evacuate all stranded passengers from the scene.
- Provide immediate emergency assistance and medical care to the injured.
- Offer psycho-social support to all affected victims.
Governor Sani has mandated that every necessary support be extended to the passengers to alleviate the distress caused by this unfortunate event.
He said Our priority is the safety and well-being of all involved.
Uba sani urged residents to remain calm and continue with their normal activities, assuring the public that the situation is under control.
Governor Sani also expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families.
He said an investigation into the cause of the derailment is currently underway, with the state government collaborating closely with relevant federal authorities and security agencies.
