Dr. Folashade Yemi Esan, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources at the Presentation of three (3) years (2016-2018) Key Achievements and Awards to outstanding staff of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and its Agencies, held in Abuja, 13th December, 2018, as the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the programme has said that the event gives the Ministry an opportunity to showcase her initiatives, activities and achievements and those of its Agencies in the past three years. She equally described the forum as an avenue to reward hardworking officers who have distinguished themselves in selfless service by demonstrating extraordinary leadership attributes, humility and dedication in service delivery.
According to the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry has the Mandate to initiate policies for the Oil and Gas sector, supervise their implementation and proper regulation of the industry.
In her speech, she enumerated the agencies under the supervision of the Ministry to include:
- Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC)
- Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR)
- Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)
- Petroleum Equalization Fund(Management) Board (PEP[M]B)
- Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency(PPPRA)
- Petroleum Training Institute(PTI)
- Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA); and the host of the
- Petroleum Technology Development (PTDF)
She pointed out that the current culture of an Efficient, Productive, incorruptible and Citizen-Centered [EPIC] Civil Service, being championed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation is not unconnected to the three (3) years of key achievements and staff awards as initiated by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
While congratulating the awardees, Yemi-Esan extolled the achievements of the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachukwu to include facilitating harmonious working relationship between the Ministry and its Agencies.
