In furtherance of the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda for the Civil Service, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, has commended the Federal Ministry of Education for successfully deploying the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System.
Speaking at the Go-Live Launch of the ECM System held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja, the HCSF described the milestone as a clear demonstration of the Ministry’s commitment to efficient, technology-driven service delivery. She applauded the Ministry’s proactive approach and urged other Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments to emulate the Federal Ministry of Education and other MDAs already operating the ECM platform.
Mrs. Walson-Jack also commended the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, and the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, for their visionary leadership, which has positioned the Ministry as a model of modernisation and innovation in the Federal Public Service.
She emphasised that the ongoing digitalisation drive is in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which seeks to build an efficient, transparent, and digitally enabled Public Service responsive to national development goals.
The HCSF reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) to continue providing technical guidance, capacity building, and oversight support to all MDAs to ensure full compliance with the digitalisation benchmark before the December 2025 deadline.
She further noted that the full deployment of the ECM platform will not only enhance workflow efficiency but also strengthen institutional memory, improve records management, and promote data-driven policy decisions across the Federal Civil Service.
Delivering his keynote address, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, expressed profound appreciation to the HCSF for her visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to the ongoing transformation of the Civil Service.
He described the launch of the Ministry’s ECM System as a long-awaited milestone that signals a new era of efficiency, accountability, and innovation in public sector management. According to him, “For decades, public institutions depended on manual, paper-based processes which, though useful in their time, often caused delays, duplication, and loss of critical records. The ECM System ushers in a new digital era that aligns perfectly with the Federal Government’s transformation agenda and our shared commitment to modern governance.”
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, thanked the HCSF for her unwavering leadership in driving ongoing public service reforms and lauded the Honourable Minister for his vision and dedication to modernising the Ministry’s operations.
