As a follow-up to the 1 day training organised last December, by the Division of Health Promotion of the Department of Family Health to sensitize program officers of Health Ministry on document, archiving and dissemination, the Federal Ministry of Health with support from the centre for Communication Program-Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI 2) has organised a 2day in-house training for Programme officers in the Ministry.
The Workshop which commences today in Abuja, is to: Guide participants in understanding key knowledge management practices,
* Guide discussions around Knowledge capture, knowledge synthesis, knowledge sharing, knowledge assessment and knowledge generation and
* Guide participants on global practices that connect dissemination and use of Information platforms.
Declaring the workshop open, the Director, Department of Family Health, Dr. Salma Anas-Kolo, who was represented by the Head, Health Promotion Division, Mrs L. K. Baking-Aiyegbusi, hoped that the training would serve as a roadmap for effective documentation, dissemination and archiving.
She also assured that the “on-going partnership will provide platform for hands down experience sharing, focusing on tasks that will place knowledge Management function in the centre of organizations’ service delivery process”
Dr. Anas- Kolo commended NURHI 2 for providing Technical support towards strengthening knowledge management practices within the health sector in Nigeria.
