FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nasarawa State says the Continuous Permanent Voter registration will commence for residents of the state on 25th of August, 2025 and the online aspect of the registration will start again on the 18 of August 2025 in-line with session 9 and 10 electoral Act of 2022 of the commission.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Commission, Dr. Shehu El-Wahab announced the development during a Press Briefing at his office today in Lafia, the state capital.
He said the commencement of the voter card registration is base on the directive of the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahamoud Yakubu after conducting a meeting with all commissioners in the country.
He added that the registration is free, emphasizing that online aspect is to commence on the 18 of August 2025 because of the advance of technology people can use their phone to register and while the in person will be conducted on 25 August 2025 cutting across all centers in the 13 Local Government Areas as well as the state Headquarters.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Nasarawa state equally explained that any person who is already registered is not for him, however is only for those who clocked 18 years and again for those whose want to update and replace their cards that was loss, damage and transfer respectively.
Dr.El-Wahab therefore said the commission has mobilize enough staff and machines put in place to register any eligible Nigerians, while advised residents of the state to avoid double registration of PVC.
He said security arrangements has been put in place to ensure hitch free exercise, while expressed concerned over indiscriminate placing of posters by aspirants, assuring that the commission will convene a meeting with the head of political parties to arrest the situation.
