FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Government has intensified coordinated security operations across vulnerable communities as part of ongoing efforts to combat bandit activities and restore lasting peace.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed that he had visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the escalating security situation affecting parts of Kano State.
According to the governor, President Tinubu fully understood the gravity of the threat and immediately ordered the deployment of a specialized security team to Kano to reinforce ongoing operations.
Governor Yusuf further explained that arrangements are already underway to enhance mobility, strengthen logistics, and provide additional operational support required by security agencies to effectively confront banditry.
He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every community in the state enjoys full government protection.
The governor also directed security operatives to remain focused, maintain vigilance, and intensify intelligence gathering in close collaboration with local communities.
He emphasized that community-based intelligence remains one of the most reliable tools for identifying threats and preventing attacks.
Governor Yusuf reassured residents that the combined security measures, including additional deployments, improved inter-agency coordination, and enhanced mobility, will continue until peace is fully restored across all affected areas.
