Kano State Government Announces Resumption Dates for Second Term Academic Session

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Government has approved Sunday, 5th January 2025, as the resumption date for all boarding public and private primary and post-primary schools in the state. Pupils and students in day schools are to resume on Monday, 6th January 2025, for the commencement of the 2024/2025 second term academic session.

According to Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, the announcement is part of efforts to ensure smooth academic activities. In a press release dated 3rd January 2025, he emphasized the importance of compliance by parents and guardians in ensuring timely resumption. The statement also warned that disciplinary action would be taken against any defaulting students or pupils.

The statement quoted the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, who reiterated the administration’s dedication to providing quality education. He noted that the government remains committed to creating a conducive learning environment that empowers students to excel academically.

Dr. Makoda extended best wishes to teachers, students, and pupils for a successful start to the term. He also stressed that the Ministry would continue its routine monitoring exercise to ensure punctuality and efficiency among staff.

Parents and guardians are urged to adhere to the resumption schedule to guarantee a productive and uninterrupted second term academic session.
