Kano State Government Sets 1st Term Vacation and Resumption Dates for Schools

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Government has announced the official vacation dates for the first term of the 2024/2025 academic session. According to the schedule, all public and private day and boarding primary and secondary schools in the state will commence their vacation on Friday, December 20, and Saturday, December 21, 2024. Parents and guardians of students in boarding schools have been instructed to ensure their wards return home by the morning of Saturday, December 21, 2024.

In a statement by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Kano State Ministry of Education, it was clarified that boarding students are to resume on Sunday, January 5, 2025, while day students will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025. The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, emphasized the importance of strict adherence to these dates, urging parents and guardians to ensure compliance. He also cautioned that disciplinary measures would be enforced against students who fail to resume on time.

The ministry expressed gratitude for the continued support and cooperation of parents and guardians. It wished all students and pupils a peaceful, enjoyable, and productive holiday season.
