Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Rescues and Assists Distressed Man

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has provided critical emergency assistance to an unidentified man found in distress under the Kofar Nassarawa Flyover in Kano. The man, who had reportedly been living there for over a month, was discovered in a severely ill condition.

According to Halima Sani Gadanya, Director of Public Enlightenment for the Ministry, the Honourable Commissioner, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani, acted swiftly upon receiving a distress call from good Samaritans. Through the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Amina Yusuf Yargaya, the Ministry provided immediate support, equipping the good Samaritans with soap, detergent, and clothing to clean and dress the man, restoring his dignity.

Following these efforts, the man was transported to the emergency unit of Murtala Muhammad Hospital, where Matron Hussaina Sani provided prompt medical care. The Honourable Commissioner assured that the Ministry would continue to provide comprehensive care and support for the man as part of its ongoing humanitarian initiatives.

The Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Amina Yusuf Yargaya, commended the selflessness of the good Samaritans and the dedication of the hospital staff. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with individuals and organizations to support vulnerable members of society.
