The honiurable Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba ,said that Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) has been a very reliable partner in the conduct of Capacity Building programmes for critical stakeholders in the development planning process for improved governance in Nigeria.
He stated this during the signing ceremony of the renewal of Cooperation Agreement between Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Federal Government of Nigeria yesterday in his office.
The Minister explained that the collaboration KAS has embarked on with Federal Government in Capacity Building programs in areas such as Special & Technical Assistants to Ministers which was the first of its kind, Capacity Building for Federal Secretaries, Heads of Board of Government Agencies/Parastatals, Anchors and Technical, Heads of Committee set up in furtherance of the planning process for the formulation of the National Development Plan 2021 – 2025, States Assemblies, National Assemblies and more.
Agba also pointed out that KAS has commenced capacity building for newly elected Legislators in 18 states starting with Lagos.
The Minister of State also applauded the leadership of the KAS Resident Representative to Nigeria, Marija Peran for the continuous support to the Ministry especially in organizing and funding the capacity building programmes.
Speaking earlier in a goodwill message, the KAS Resident Representative to Nigeria thanked the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Ahmed for supporting KAS in their goals and action.
Marija Peran was delighted that both the Ministry and KAS are aiming towards the same cause and goals in supporting the sustainable development of Nigeria so that no individual, citizens will be left behind.
The Resident Representative also said that KAS has been active in Nigeria for over 20 years, while the partnership with the ministry has been intensive since 2020.
