ABUJA (Min of Power Report) – The Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman has said that the 40MW Kashimbilla Power Plant in Taraba State, which is powered to provide electricity to 80% of the communities in both Taraba and Benue States, would soon be commissioned.
He expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work done on the project, as he went on an inspection visit to the plant, on Friday, 30th August, 2019.
He reiterated the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, to achieve its mandate of economic growth and development, as well as job creation in the country.
The Minister of State, Mr. Goddy Jedy-Agba, who accompanied the Minister, equally stated that he was happy with the level of work done.
While giving an update on the project, the Project Manager in the Ministry, Ali Dapshima Abubakar, said, the evacuation component of the plant has five substations and that the project was 100% completed.
He further stated that the project was conceived to avert flood from the structurally weak volcanic Lake Nyos near Cameroon.
