FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency Dr. Hadeeza Balarabe, represent the Kaduna State Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr. Uba Sani CON, at 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) of the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, held at the 2nd Battalion Playground, Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna.
Delivering the Governor’s remarks, Dr. Balarabe expressed the Kaduna State Government’s appreciation to officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly the soldiers of the 1 Mechanised Division, for their critical role in safeguarding lives and property across the state. She commended their resilience, dedication, and sacrifices in the sustained effort to restore and maintain peace in Kaduna State.
Earlier in his address, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Major General A.S.M. Wase, explained that the annual WASA marks the culmination of the Division’s activities for the year 2025. He noted that the event also provides an opportunity to review the prevailing security situation in Kaduna State and its environs. The GOC added that the occasion serves as a moment of remembrance for fallen heroes of the Division, offering prayers for the repose of their souls.
The event featured colourful displays by various units of the Division, cultural performances by different dance troupes, and the presentation of merit awards to outstanding soldiers in recognition of their exemplary service.
