FIC Report (Kogi State) – Kogi State, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo met with members of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the Conference Hall of Government House in Lokoja.
This engagement reveals the state government’s commitment to fostering unity and cooperation among different religious groups in the State.
The meeting aimed to strengthen peaceful coexistence, cooperation, building on existing collaborations between the state government and religious organizations.
In his remarks, Governor Ododo appreciated the group for the support he received during his election. He emphasized that the support he received from the two groups was not political but spiritual.
In his words “Let me begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to all of you for your unwavering support not only during the last election but from the beginning of our journey. You believed in me when I presented myself as a servant of People, you stood with me in Faith, Prayers and with the thought that I will serve with integrity, humility and the fear of God Almighty; your support was not political but spiritual,” he said.
The Governor warned against any act that would distract the peace of the State, charging the Local Government chairmen to desist from approving land for people of questionable character.
The Chairman Jama’atu Nasirl Islam Kogi State Chapter, Ambassador Usman Bello and the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Special Apostle Adegboye Emmanuel appreciated the governor for the opportunity to have an interface with him.
The two bodies praised the governor for his monumental strides in all sectors of the state economy and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries.
