Kogi State Executive Council Grants Pardon to Deposed Omala Local Government Traditional Council Chairman

FIC Report (Kogi State) – Kogi state Executive council, presided over by Governor Usman Ododo has lifted the suspension of the imposed on the Ojogba-Ife and Chairman, Omala Local Government Traditional Council, Chief Boniface Musa, who was suspended indefinitely for misconduct in the year 2024.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Salami Ozigi made this known while briefing newsmen after the SEC meeting in Government House Lokoja.

Mr Ozigi explained that the traditional ruler was suspended by the immediate past administration on grounds of partisan politics which was against the tenet of his position as a traditional rule.

He said the state government decided to lift the suspension after the traditional ruler expressed remorse and promised never to involve in partisan politics.

During the briefing, the commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Abanika Taiye, said council also approved several projects across the state.

The projects includes the rehabilitation of the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe’s Palace in Kogi Local Government Area, construction of staff quarters for doctors at the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, Okene, and completion of the Faculty of Engineering building at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara as well as construction of hostels for medical students at the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, Okene.
