Lagos Hosts 2025 International Table Tennis Africa Youth Championships

FIC Report (Lagos State) – July 29, 2025 – The Molade-Okoya Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, is again buzzing with excitement as 150 young table tennis talents from across Africa gather for the 2025 International Table Tennis Africa Youth Championships. The month-long event, running from July 27 to August 3, 2025, features 17 countries competing in 16 events across singles, doubles, mixed doubles, and team categories.

Nigerian youngsters Tobi Adebakin, Adeoye Hussein, and Ojo Favour are among the talented players representing the host nation. The championships aim to promote mass participation in sports, empower the youth, and provide a platform for players to hone their skills.

According to the Organizers, “Lagos is not only hosting the world, but also encouraging mass participation in all forms of sports and empowering the youth to thrive.”

The top teams in the U-15 and U-19 categories will qualify for the World Youth Championships in Romania, while the singles event finalists will also earn tickets to the global stage. This prestigious event promises to be an exciting display of young talent and a celebration of table tennis excellence.
