FIC Report (Lagos State) – The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sustainable tourism development. He made this statement at a gathering on the 10th of June 2025 in Abuja hosted by the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy but monitored from Lagos.
The meeting, which brought together industry stakeholders, including UN Tourism Secretary-General Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, prepared for the 68th Meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa (CAF) 2025.
Mr. Aregbe highlighted Lagos’ efforts to empower creatives, develop tourism infrastructure, and leverage digital tools. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving social impact and education in tourism.
The meeting’s theme, “Boosting Social Impact and Education in Tourism via Innovation, AI, and Creative Industries in Africa,” underscores the transformative role of technology and creativity in African tourism.
