FIC Report (Lagos State) – Lagos, Nigeria – At the 3rd FAAN National Aviation Conference, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming the country’s aviation industry through strategic investments and partnerships.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of aviation in shaping Nigeria’s economy, connectivity, and competitiveness. “As the country’s busiest aviation gateway, we see every day how much aviation shapes our economy, our connectivity and our competitiveness,” he said.

The President highlighted the government’s plans to develop a fully integrated transport system, linking rail, road, water, and air. “Our Blue and Red Line trains are already moving thousands, and the new Green Line will connect Marina to the Lekki corridor and the site of our planned Lekki–Epe International Airport,” he announced.

The new airport is expected to ease pressure on Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), support the growing Lekki industrial axis, and position Lagos as West Africa’s leading aviation and logistics hub. “We are designing it with climate responsibility, strong community engagement and long-term economic impact in mind,” the President assured.

Lagos State is committed to partnering with aviation stakeholders to build a safer, stronger, and more competitive aviation sector. “To our investors and airline partners, Lagos is open for business, and our vision is clear,” the President concluded.
