The Honorable Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has said; “I don’t want to be remembered as the Minister that solve passport problem, but Minister that helped the President to secure boarders in Nigeria, that is legacy”.
He added that Nigerians at boarder communities are neglected, he said he wants to make sure they feel they are part of Nigeria, by providing them with necessary Infrastructures and other essential Services, to improve their wellbeing.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, stated that he does not want to disappoints Nigerians and also the President who appointed him as the Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I am committed not to fail Nigerians, It takes lots of confidence, courage and determinations”.
The Minister made this known when the Chief Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission Hon. Ambimbola Ayo Yussuf and his state Commissioners paid him a courtesy visit in his office, Abuja on the Tuesday.
The Minister commended the Chief Commissioner for his leadership in the Commission, he said “you cannot give what you don’t have, you only give what you have”.
He stated that Public Complaints Commission is Known for integrity of government institution as such all government MDAs should partner with the institution (PCC).
According to Dr. Olubunmi, who revealed importance of feedback in workforce. He further stated that “I like criticism, but not destructive criticism, when you criticize in the aim of making the system better, the other person will not just be a winner, but winner for Nigerian as a country”.
Earlier, the Chief Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Abimbola Ayo Yussuf, congratulated the Minister on his appointment, he described him as an exceptional leader who is dedicated and also committed to the service of the nation.
The Chief Commissioner said their purpose the visits to the Ministry of interior is to collaborate to eliminate passport queues in Nigeria. He further stated that “It is in this capacity that the Commission wishes to partner and collaborates with you in your efforts and commitment to steer the Ministry to greatness, under your watch. It is hoped that the relationship between your Organization and the commission will be fruitful for the benefits of all Nigerians”.
Director Joint Service Dr. Peter Ogbodo, represented the Permanent Secretary, and staff of Ministry of interior in attendance at the meeting.
