FIC Report (Osun State) – The Osun State House of Assembly has tasked the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to approach the 2026 Budget with prudency and transparency.
The Chairman Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon Olumide Fatumise, made this remarks at the ongoing year 2026 Budget defense exercise at the Hallow Chamber of Osun State House of Assembly Osogbo.
He noted that interrogation of finance is paramount to the 8th Assembly of Osun State there by urging Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to be prudent and transparency in their figures.
According to him, “prudence and transparency should be their guide and they should follow due process at all cost and that through the budget the government must touch the life of every citizen,” he added.
He assured that the government must deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
In their various contributions, the law makers urged the officials of the Ministries Departments and Agencies of government to be up and doing in their facts and figures.
They commended the Ministry of Cooperative and Empowerment for their support to the grassroots across the State and also appreciated MDAs for their efforts on complementing the State government on their works.
Thus, following a thorough review of the submission, the Committee considered the budget size of the Ministry of Rural Development and Community affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Cooperative and Empowerment.
Others are Osun State micro-credit Agency, Osun State investment promotion Agency, Ministry of Energy respectively.
