The Ministry of Interior is to partner the National Intelligence Agency to tackle the security challenges in the country.
The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. (rtd) Abdulrahman Dambazau, stated this when the newly-appointed Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Gen. Dambazau disclosed that the Ministry was preparing to host a meeting on Cross Border Migration and Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons, as well as a Regional Conference on ECOWAS Transhumnance Protocol coming up in February 2018, adding that the participation of the Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) would add value to the conferences.
The Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, stated that his visit was to consolidate on the existing partnership and further strengthen relationship between the Agency and the ministry in surmounting the security challenges in the country.
