First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has stressed the need for mothers and newborn babies to receive special care, especially around the period of delivery. She spoke at an advocacy visit organized by Future Assured, to reach out to mothers on the need to be more health conscious for themselves and their babies.
The visit took place in Abuja, where Mrs. Rose Fadi Audu, Special Assistant to the President (Special Duties), led the team and conveyed the goodwill message of Mrs. Buhari, reiterating the importance of hygiene and nutrition for both mother and baby, reminding them that only a healthy mother can raise a healthy child and only a healthy child stands to be a productive citizen.
The Future Assured team delivered maternity packages, which include assorted baby care products to new mothers at Primary Health Care Centers at Lugbe and Dawaki as well as the Dawaki Medical center.
Aisha Buhari Foundation and Future Assured Programme have been at the forefront of campaigns for the health of mothers and new born children.
