Nasarawa Government Reaffirms Commitment to Women Empowerment at 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – As the world globally celebrate the International Day of Women’s, government the world over showed commitment to the protection, Development, as well as continuous commitment toward the empowerment of women.

In Nasarawa State, the state government has expressed it continuous commitment toward promoting women’s welfare, protection, and economic empowerment of women’s in the state.

In a press conference as part of the activities marking the year 2026 international Women’s celebration with the THEME ‘Give to Gain’ highlighted the crucial role of women in driving social and economic development.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian services, Barrister Hauwa Samuel Jugbo said investment in Women would strengthens families and grows the economy and encouraged families to appreciate and support women who play vital roles in sustaining homes as well as nurturing future generation.

The Commissioner lamented that, despite hugged contribution of women in all sphere of lives, women continuous facing heavy challenges such as gender based violence, abuse and social cultural barriers, noting that government is working assidiusly to address those issues through awareness campaigns and policy advocacy particularly on gender based violence.

She urged women to work hard, participate in political activities, and acquire skills to contributes their quoter to the growth of their families and the state.

Some of the activities outlined to mark the International Day of Women includes Road walk, media engagement and panel discussion.
