FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – The Nasarawa state Government said that it has received the sum of N9 billion for Nigeria COVID-19 action recovery and economic stimulus, NG-cares project across the state. The state Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule stated this while addressing members of the state Executive council meeting held by at the Government house Lafia, recently.
The Governor explained that, the amount received was as a result of the performance of the state for immerging first position out of the 36 participating states in the NG-CARES project support project for vulnerable houses holds and microenterprises impacted by COVID-19.
NG-CARES is a Federal Government of Nigeria programme implemented in Nigeria to support vulnerable households and micro enterprise impacted and hited by the COVID-19 pandemic and other related economic shocks.
The Governor further revealed that the amount will be properly utilized for the interest and wellbeing of the people of the state.
On the security issue, bedeviling parts of Nasarawa south senatorial zone. The Governor pointed out that the state Government is adopting technologies measures towards addressing the challenges between some ethnic nationalities in the area.
Other critical issues discussed during the state Executive council meeting includes, investment, where one of the largest mining company is ready for Inauguration.
Governor Sule however assured of his Administration’s commitment towards making life better and meaningful for the citizens of Nasarawa State.
Briefing news men after the Executive session, the council adopted the setting up the white paper drafting committee to further strengthen fairness, justice and views were government decisions will be taking and also commended the effort of governor Sule for paying NECO registrations for Students in all public schools across the state.
The council also review the contact for the construction of adudu-Azara road project as well as inviting the contractor handing Toto- Umaisha road construction project to explain the reason behind the slow pace of work on the side among other key decisions reached during the meeting.
