The National Environment and standard Regulation and Enforcement Agency (NESREA) wants Ekiti State government to make Waste Plant landed to them by the federal government, operational.
The plant, which is located at Ilokun-Iworoko Road in the State Capital, is part of the federal government’s effort at building a habitable environment in Ekiti State and for converting waste to wealth.
The coordinator of the Agency in the State Mr. Nelson Udofia, explained that if the plant is operational, it would ease the amount of waste, blocking drainages which otherwise, cause flooding and erosion in the state during rainfall.
Mr. Udofia said that NESREA has also provided and handed over to the state government, waste disposal bins for distribution to the public, to enforce sanitation and clean environment in the state.
