The Newly posted Permanent Secretary to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo mni has urged staff of the Ministry to be transparent in whatever they do as he promised to strict to due process in the conduct of government business.
The Permanent Secretary made this known while addressing members of Management Staff of the Ministry during a symbolic handing over ceremony between him and the outgoing Permanent Secretary Mr. Edet Sunday Akpan, in Abuja.
Dr. Gwarzo said “I’m here to support you to do the work, therefore, anything that has to be done, let it be clearly place on the table and it will be done”
He also promised to create an enabling working environment as well as the necessary leadership and support to all staff to enable them put in their best toward achieving the mandate of the Ministry.
Dr. Gwarzo, further said he has fully resumed work to avoid unnecessary delay while the process of transition is going on, explaining that hand over is not a day affair “It looked formal but it is symbolic and we have every reason to come to the outgoing Permanent Secretary and say shade more light on any grey areas that may require his inputs”. He added.
Earlier, the Outgoing Permanent secretary Mr. Edet Sunday Akpan while receiving incoming Permanent Secretary Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwazo said the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is key to the success of the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration’s Next Level Agenda in terms of pushing policies and programmes, he therefore, urged the Management and Unions to give the incoming Permanent Secretary all necessary support and cooperation to move the Ministry forward.
Mr. Akpan explained that the Ministry has 14 Departments and 17 Agencies under and key among them that support government policies and programmes are; Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), Bank of Industry (BOI), Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC), Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) among others.
