KANO (FIC Kano) – The 9th Advanced Command Course Study of the Nigeria Prison Service, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Thursday, 13th June, 2019 at the Government House Kano.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, reiterated his administration’s commitment to partner with the Nigerian Prison Service to promote programmes on skills acquisition and to minimize crime in the State.
He further explained that his administration also constructed a multi billion Naira skills acquisition centre, designed to train the teeming youth on over 24 skills acquisition courses and partner with Nigeria Prison Service to promote its activities.
Dr. Ganduje revealed that his administration has donated 30 hectares of land where the Federal Government, is currently constructing its ultramodern 3000 capacity mega prison at Janguza, which he described as the first of its kind in the country.
While speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Assistant Controller General, Nigeria Prison Service, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Hussain, stated that they were in Kano for advanced command study tour to witness some of the viable projects being executed by the administration especially on prison matters.
He further stated that Kano state was chosen for this study tour because of the achievements and contributions which the Governor has rendered to prison services.
