There are indications that Nigeria may be hosting next year’s (2021) edition of the World Energy Forum (WEF) Conference.
This was revealed during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Forum to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, on Tuesday, 15th September 2020.
The President of the World Energy Forum, Dr. Harold Hyun Suk OH led the WEF team and was received by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Bitrus Bako Nabasu, mni, in his office.
In his address, the WEF President, Dr. OH, informed that he was in Nigeria to intimate relevant stakeholders of the Forum’s resolve to have it’s 2021 Conference in Nigeria which according to him, will be the first of its Conference on the African continent.
In his response, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Nabasu thanked the WEF leadership for counting Nigeria worthy of hosting it’s Conference. He also assured the WEF team of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring a successful hosting.
The WEF President, Mr. HO thanked the Permanent Secretary for granting the audience to his team and emphasized the economic benefits of the WEF Conference to Nigeria, and indeed the African continent.
