The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) has strengthened its bilateral ties with Tunisia through strategic engagements in education and arts & culture sectors.

The NTAC Director-General, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, led a Nigerian delegation to Tunis, Tunisia, for high-level meetings with the Tunisian Ministry of Education and Ministry of Arts and Culture.

Key highlights of the visit include:

  • Expanded Technical Cooperation: Exploring new areas of collaboration in education, arts, cultural exchange, and manpower development
  • Capacity Building: Fostering mutual growth through capacity building, cultural diplomacy, and exchange of expertise
  • Deployment of Skilled Professionals: Deploying skilled Nigerian professionals to support Tunisia’s national development priorities
  • Academic Collaboration: Deepening Technical Exchange programmes in academic collaboration, creative industry development, and vocational skills enhancement

The NTAC Director-General emphasized that the visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to promoting African solidarity and sustainable partnership.

The Tunisian counterparts commended Nigeria for its role in advancing African integration and expressed readiness to reciprocate Nigeria’s gesture through enhanced bilateral frameworks.

The NTAC scheme has been successful in promoting skills transfer, volunteerism, and South-South cooperation, with Tunisia expressing interest in collaborating with Nigeria on various projects, including Science and Technology, Engineering, Artisanal skills, Medical Sciences, and Cultural Diplomacy.
