FIC Report (Edo State) – The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has lauded the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army for its commendable efforts in improving and maintaining security across Edo State. The Union expressed its high regard for the Brigade’s sustained commitment to fostering peace through strategic military operations.
During a Courtesy visit to the Brigade Headquarters in Benin City, the Chairman of the NUJ Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, conveyed the Union’s appreciation for the Brigade’s achievements since the appointment of its current Commander. Alenkhe highlighted that the notable decline in insecurity and the relative peace enjoyed by residents are largely attributable to the troops’ consistent vigilance, rapid response to emerging threats, and proactive security measures.
Alenkhe emphasized the importance of a strengthened partnership between the Military and the Media, advocating for enhanced collaboration to facilitate effective communication and responsible reportage of Security issues. He underscored that such synergy is vital for fostering public trust and ensuring accurate dissemination of information.


In his response, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, the Brigade Commander, expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as both timely and significant. He acknowledged the crucial role of the Media in shaping Public perception of Military Operations and assured the NUJ of the Army’s continued commitment to Cooperation. Brigadier General Balogun reaffirmed the Brigade’s dedication to promoting peace, professionalism, and transparency within Edo State.
