The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Prof. Festus Imuetinyan on his appointment as a member of the Federal Character Commission, by President Muhammadu Buhari. He noted that the appointment was well-deserved.
In a statement, Governor Obaseki said the appointment would rightly place Prof. Imuetinyan in the right stead to contribute his quota to the political development of the country after decades of teaching and researching on the intricacies of Federalism and Inter-governmental relations.
According to him, “I congratulate Prof. Festus Imuetinyan on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Federal Character Commission. The appointment is well-deserved. Prof. Imuetinyan, with the appointment, is in the right stead to contribute to the political development of the country after decades of teaching and researching on the intricacies of federalism and inter-governmental relations.”
The governor said he believes Prof. Imuetinyan would do well in serving the country given his background, adding that he was confident that the new appointee would make necessary contributions for the strengthening of the commission’s work.
Prof. Imuetinyan holds a PhD in Comparative Politics from the University of Benin, and is Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria.
He once headed the Extension Services Division, Institute of Public Administration and Extension Services at the University of Benin, Nigeria.
Prof. Imuetinyan’s teachings, writings and researches deal with federalism and inter-governmental relations. He has been active in policy and politics of Federalism in Nigeria.
