The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has emphasized the critical role of strategic communication and inter-ministerial collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s economic reforms and industrialization agenda.
Dr. Oduwole made this known during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, the Minister highlighted the importance of partnership between both ministries in amplifying the Federal Government’s economic reforms under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She noted that the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment remains committed to diversifying the Nigerian economy through industrialization, expanding non-oil exports, and attracting both domestic and foreign investment.
According to Dr. Oduwole, 2026 will focus on key strategic pillars aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s industrial competitiveness and global trade presence.
“The first pillar is unlocking global and regional demand to drive non-oil exports, industrial productivity and scale. Many Nigerian businesses are now ready for the next phase of growth, and we are working to support them through improved access to finance, incentives and policy reforms,” she said.
She further explained that the Ministry will prioritize strengthening domestic production capacity to ensure the supply of export-ready goods and services. As part of this effort, the Ministry plans to embark on a nationwide sub-national tour to promote opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Dr. Oduwole also identified the mobilization of strategic and inclusive investments for infrastructure, innovation and industrial transformation as another priority for the Ministry in 2026.
The Minister noted that Nigeria has continued to promote investment opportunities globally, referencing engagements such as Nigeria House at the World Economic Forum in Davos and recent economic partnership discussions with international partners.
In his response, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, commended Dr. Oduwole for her leadership and dedication to improving Nigeria’s investment climate.
He noted that her work in promoting trade and investment began even before her appointment to the Federal Executive Council and has continued to strengthen Nigeria’s business environment.
“The Ministry of Information and National Orientation will continue to amplify the work being done by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment so that Nigerians and the global community understand the opportunities that exist in the country,” he said.
The Minister also highlighted positive economic indicators recorded under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting improvements in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, economic stability and investment outlook.
He emphasized that ongoing reforms across key sectors, including power and finance, are creating a more conducive environment for investment and industrial growth.
Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration between their ministries to ensure that Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda is effectively communicated and supported both locally and internationally.
