FIC Report (Anambra State) – The Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has through her Renewed Hope Initiative empowered two hundred and fifty persons living with disabilities in Anambra State with the sum of two hundred thousand naira each to support whatever existing small business they are into.
While delivering the President’s wife address, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo represented by the Deputy Governor’s wife, Lady Oluchi Ibezim noted that the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Agenda also sought to promote inclusive growth and shared prosperity by ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind, especially those whose needs are often overlooked.
Senator Tinubu disclosed that over the past two years the Renewed Hope Initiative has supported over one hundred thousand women petty traders and small business owners, including persons with disabilities with different financial grants to grow their businesses
The Commissioner for Health, Anambra State, Dr Afam Obidike in his speech said the event demonstrates the natural commitment of the Anambra First Lady to ensuring that Anambra people are not denied any economic empowerment programme from the Federal government, encouraging the beneficiaries to make good use of the grants to better their lives.
The Chairman, Anambra State Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke commended the implementation of the financial support for persons with disabilities, described it as a compassionate programme of the Wife of the President effectively implemented in the State by the Wife of the Governor.
He advised members of the association to use the grants effectively
