Presidential Aide challenges National Council Officials to come up with people friendly policies.

Sani Yakubu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) – Industrialization has challenged Officials of the 9th National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment to see the people as “the greatest national assets base” and come up with sustainable policies to diversify the nation’s economy away from oil in a way that will make the people comfortable and feel at home with the efforts of the present administration to develop the nation.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President (SSA-P) on Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) – Industrialization stated this while giving a special presentation the Meeting of Officials of the ongoing 9th National Council on Industry, trade and Investment holding at Sokoto.

The Presidential aide challenged the officials to see their endeavours as incomplete if they don’t translate to meaningful life for Nigerians.

Sani said the top execution priorities of the National Industrial Revolution Plan which include macroeconomic environment; achieving agricultural and food security; improving transportation infrastructure; ensuring energy sufficiency in power and petroleum products and driving industrialization with a focus on SMEs as well as the ease of doing business and driving the National Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) are all critical subsets meant to achieve low inflation, stable exchange rate, diversified and inclusive growth so as to ensure that the citizens of Nigeria are able to express their entrepreneurial spirit.

The SSA-P surmised that there is a need to do more than ever before to focus on implementation, and on practical realistic measures that bring about truly inclusive and diversified growth translating to improvements in the welfare of the population.
