
The newly posted Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Fatima Mahmood, today undertook a familiarization tour of the Ministry’s facilities with a view of appreciating the operations of the departments and units under her purview.
The tour, which took her through the 9th floor to the ground floor, aimed to acquaint her with the Ministry’s infrastructure and identify areas for improvement. A key focus area was addressing accommodation challenges arising from the bifurcation of the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the creation of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
Thereafter, she held meetings with departmental heads to provide her with insights into the roles and operations of various departments, enabling her to effectively drive the Ministry’s vision for a thriving blue economy.
The Permanent Secretary expressed the need of leveraging the expertise of her team to advance the Ministry’s strategic objectives, including the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The tour and meetings underscores her commitment to collaborative leadership and effective governance in of the Ministry.
So far, she has met with the following departments: Human Resource Management, Maritime Safety and Security, Maritime Services, Procurement, Planning, Research & Statistics, Legal and General Services.
