FIC Report (Lagos State) – Radio Nigeria is pursuing a strengthened collaboration with the Lagos State Government to expand its reach and improve information dissemination nationwide. During a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Information and Strategy on Monday, the Director -General of Radio Nigeria, Dr. Muhammed Bulama, emphasized the importance of partnering with the state government.
“We are here to partner, collaborate, and synergise with the Lagos State Government to enhance productivity,” Dr. Bulama said, commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for its significant developmental strides.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, represented by Mr. Adesegun Ogundeji, Director of Public Affairs, welcomed the Radio Nigeria delegation and acknowledged the popularity and positive impact of Radio Nigeria’s stations among Lagos residents. “We acknowledge the enduring relevance of Radio Nigeria in the evolving digital landscape and pledge our support,” Ogundeji said.
Dr. Bulama highlighted Lagos’s strategic importance as Nigeria’s commercial hub and former capital, noting that Radio Nigeria operates three stations in the state: Bond FM, Radio One, and Metro FM. He also expressed gratitude for the state government’s support during a fire incident last year that affected two of their Lagos stations and appealed for further assistance in restoring the damaged stations.
The discussions also touched on Radio Nigeria’s digital communication strategies and its preparedness to cover the upcoming Lagos State Local Government Elections. “We are committed to leveraging technology and investing in digital transformation,” Dr. Bulama affirmed. Mrs. Bolanle Owoyemi, Director, Lagos Operations, Radio Nigeria, assured the State Government of effective coverage of the elections by the Station.
The meeting was attended by senior management staff from both Radio Nigeria and the Ministry of Information and Strategy, highlighting the mutual interest in strengthening collaboration and improving information dissemination in the state.
