
Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu received the Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa in his office today 8th July 2025.
The courtesy visit aimed to strengthen relationship between the Defence Headquarters and Ministry of Regional Development to promote national security.
The Minister of State said the Ministry was willing to enter into collaboration with the Chief of Defence Staff in fighting insecurity and ensuring that peace returned to all troubled spots in the country.
He expressed delight for the visit and emphasized the importance of leveraging the Military’s expertise and resources to support Regional Development initiatives, particularly in areas affected by insurgency, conflicts and general insecurity.
The Minister of State called for urgent attention to areas faced with insecurity to help restore life to the regions.
Furthermore, the Minister of State commended the Chief Defence Staff for his efforts and support in providing enabling environment for children of displaced persons by absorbing them into Command secondary schools and his efforts in curbing violence in Northwest and lake Chad region, as well as training of special forces.
“Together we shall succeed in keeping this nation one and peaceful to live in with the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, he said.
Earlier, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Musa had briefed the Minister of State Regional Development on the purpose of his visit which he said was to seek areas of collaboration with the Ministry, citing areas such: as infrastructural development, security and humanitarian assistance.
