FIC Report (Niger State) – Niger State governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inspected the Minna-Suleja road following the recent approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the completion of the 71 km road project.
The farmer governor, who was in the company of the Director of Highways, Bridges, and Road Designs, Engr. Musa Sa’idu, and the Director of Highway Construction and Rehabilitation, Engr. Clement Ogbuagu inspected the road to identify critical sections where work is expected to start.
During the inspection, the farmer governor interacted with officials of the two contracting firms for the project on how best to achieve the desired results.
The farmer governor also toured the Dikko-Maje road, which has also been in a dilapidated state, and appealed to the federal government to also consider it for reconstruction based on its numerous strategic economic importance and the fact that the design for the road has been finalised.
He used the opportunity to once again appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for their continuous support to Niger State.
The Director of Highways, Bridges, and Road Designs, Federal Ministry of Works, Engr. Musa Saidu, and the Director of Highway Construction and Rehabilitation, Engr. Clement Ogbuagu, in their separate remarks, disclosed that the Minna-Suleja road project will commence before the rain starts, while assuring that the 7 km Maje-Dikko road project will soon be awarded.
The Secretary to the State government, Abubakar Usman; the Member representing the Suleja/Gurara/Tafa federal constituency, Adamu Tanko; the member representing the Bida/Gbako/Katcha federal constituency, Saidu Musa Abdullahi; the Chairman of the Suleja local government, Isyaku Bawa Naibi; and the Chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, among others, were among the entourage of the farmer governor.
