Salvation Ministry Aids Displaced Persons In Makurdi

FIC Report (Benue State) – In a commendable display of compassion and social responsibility, the Salvation Ministry Church in Makurdi, under the leadership of Pastor David Ibiyeomie, on Wednesday 25th June 2025, extended generous support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) by donating essential food and non-food items to the camp located at the International Market, Makurdi.

The donation, aimed at alleviating the suffering of families recently displaced from Yelewata, was warmly received by staff of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), who expressed profound gratitude for the church’s humanitarian gesture.

Speaking during the handover, officials from SEMA lauded the church’s intervention, noting that such acts of kindness not only provide immediate relief but also restore hope and dignity to individuals affected by conflict and displacement.

“This support from the Salvation Ministry Church is timely and deeply appreciated,” said Dr. Donald Komgbenda, Head of Administration at Benue-SEMA. “It reflects a genuine concern for humanity and complements our ongoing efforts to ensure that displaced persons in Benue State receive the care and assistance they need.”

The donated items included staple foodstuffs, toiletries, clothing, and other basic necessities critical to the wellbeing of the IDPs. The agency has since begun distribution to ensure the aid reaches the most vulnerable members of the camp.

Benue-SEMA continues to call on faith-based organizations, corporate bodies, and well-meaning individuals to emulate this gesture and join in the collective mission to support displaced populations across the state.
