EBONYI (FIC Ebonyi Report) – Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring that the 2nd Niger Bridge project becomes a reality in the South East.
Umahi made this commendation in Abakaliki recently while receiving the majority leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Femi Gbajabiamila, who led a team of members to canvass support for his ambition to become the next Speaker of the House.
According to him, the construction of the second Niger Bridge is no longer a political talk, he revealed that every week, the Chief of staff to the President sends a progress report on the project.
Umahi, who is also the Chairman, South East Governors’ Conference, thanked the delegation for choosing Ebonyi as its first State to visit for the consultation, noting that, it shows respect for its people especially Members of the House from the State.
In his remarks, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, said that the team chose Ebonyi as the first State to visit in the country due to Umahi’s nationalistic position in the nation’s affairs.
He further pointed out that House members identified that their goal will not be achieved, without the collaboration of all parts of the country.
Femi Gbajabiamila revealed that the delegation include members of All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) among others, which was hardly the case in the past.
