EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATION

  1. Confirmation of Appointment of Adeleke Moronfolu Adewolu as Executive Commissioner of NCC.

The executive communication was considered and refereed to the Committee on Communications to report back in two weeks.

MOTIONS

  1. The Menace of Street begging and need to rehabilitate street beggars.

Sponsor: Sen. Sankara d. Abudulahi.

The Senate resolved to:

  1. Call on Federal Government to formulate policy that would integrate Almajiris into the educational system thereby discouraging them from being used for street begging; and
  2. Call on the Federal and State Government to set up vocational training Centres to provide beggars with alternative means of livelihood thereby making them useful to the society.

Additional Prayer

  • Urge the FCT minister to clear the streets of beggars.

All Prayers were adopted as recommended

Letter from Mr President requesting for a joint session to present the 2020 budget was read.
